Advantages of Having an Infinity Pool in your Beverly Hills Home

Advantages of Having an Infinity Pool in your Beverly Hills Home

The joy of jumping in/lounging around/floating peacefully in a pool on a hot Californian day is magnificent… but not all pools are created equal.  Allow me to introduce the infinity pool.

Also called a zero-edge pool or an infinity edge, this is a pool where water flows over one or more edges that you can see from one side to the other, looking like the walls or edges are made of water.  These types of pools are often designed so that it looks like the edge merges with a larger body (for example, the ocean) and overlooks places such as natural landscapes and cityscapes. Moreover, it can also be seen in luxury homes that could add beauty to their view.

Many luxury homes in Beverly Hills, especially the newer builds, have infinity pools. Let me share a little about its features and benefits.

Healthier Choice:

    • Add a Diving Platform
    • Add an Inflatable Swimming Ring
    • Inflatable Kayak
  • Release stress and provide exercise:

The “Pool Illusion” utilizes a low-power pump to continuously circulate water throughout the pool without having any stagnant areas. It’s also designed with an innovative patented filter system which is meant to trap debris, bacteria, and other contaminants before they can enter the pool itself. The design of this technology is inspired by an imaginary cup in order for it to create optimal swimming conditions while keeping our surroundings clean from dirt, grime, and more. The technology is very efficient in terms of water quality and has been approved by the EPA as an environmentally friendly pool filtration system.

Ideal for Sloping Blocks:

Don’t be discouraged if you have a hillside or sloping property.  A negative edge design is a style of architecture that can take advantage of the fact that sloped backyards often overlook the landscape below, blending our views with moving water for a stunning finish.

Elegant Appearance:

I think the most amazing benefit of this pool is its stunning appearance. The coping on one side is set in just a few millimeters below water level – spilling over into what looks like another basin where it’s then recycled back into the main shell. The natural look of the water highlights any home.

Add home value:

In some areas of the US, pools are not a value addition to the home, meaning it does not bring added equity or home value.  Not so in Beverly Hills, and especially with a proper infinite pool.  If you ever decide to sell your home, infinity pools show a home buyer your home is worth more than others.

Amazing pool parties:

An infinity pool can mean no shortage of great parties with friends.  Memories are priceless!

Safety:

It’s important to take care of a pool when not in use. An infinity pool can be a safe place, but there are several things to remember in order to keep family and guests safe.

First of all, we have to make sure the swimming pool is properly maintained. we should never let a pool go unfilled or allow it to get too much sun or too cold. The temperature of an infinity pool should be between 70 and 80 degrees all year round. If the temperature dips below 70, you should refill it immediately so that the water stays nice and hot for as long as possible.

It’s also important that we don’t let our kids swim too often when they’re not supervised by an adult who knows how to swim. Some children are scared of water and may be tempted by an infinity pool if they see their friends doing it.

Another important thing to remember is the draining and refilling schedule. Not only will this keep your pool clean, but it will also help preserve the water.

Lastly, we want to make sure that we don’t let people fall into the pool when they’re not properly looking over the edge. It’s important for children and adults alike to always be aware of their surroundings when they’re near an infinity pool.

Considerations:

Infinity pools can be a great addition to just about any backyard! However, there are some things we have to consider before we go ahead and purchase one for ourselves.

The first thing to consider is the area where we want to install our infinity pool. We’ll want to make sure that the backyard is large enough to accommodate our pool and all of the features we’ll be adding. For example, if we’re going to be adding a spa, it’s important that there is room for it in your backyard. Another thing to think about is how close the pool will be to power lines or other tall structures that could pose a safety hazard if they were damaged by falling into an infinity pool.

Another essential factor to consider when purchasing an infinity pool is whether or not we want a flat floor or one that has steps leading up from the bottom of the pool. If we’d like a flat base, then an inflatable or plug-in swimming ring would be best for us, as they will have no steps leading up from the bottom of our infinity pool!

Add a Sliding Ladder

If we’d like our steps to lead up to the top of our infinity pool, then consider adding a sliding ladder. These types of ladders are designed to slide back and forth so that we can use them as steps or stairs when needed. We can also purchase one that is specifically designed for use as an inflatable swimming ring, which would allow us to use it as an inflatable swimming deck. Or if we’d prefer, consider installing one with stairs on both sides so that it could be used as two separate stairs leading up from the bottom of the infinity pool.

Install a Slide

Another option is installing a slide in our infinity pool’s center so that it could be used as both an inflatable swimming pool and a slide. There are several different types of slides available that would work well with an infinity pool. Some are designed to be installed in the center of the pool, while others can be placed in the corners or along one side.  If we’d like to add an inflatable water slide, then consider doing so in the center of the pool. This would allow users to slide from one end of the pool to the other as they swim, or even dive off of it and into the water below.

Add a Diving Platform

Consider adding a diving platform at the bottom of our infinity pool so that they can dive off into the water. Kids could easily easier for them to climb out of the water and back onto the diving board when they need to go out. check out What makes Beverly Hills so special?

Add an Inflatable Swimming Ring

Another way that we can use our infinity pool is by installing an inflatable swimming ring in its center. These inflatable rings have a flat surface on top and are designed to sit directly in our infinity pool’s center without having any supports around it or separating it from its surrounding water features. We could also install one on the sides of the pool instead.

Inflatable Kayak

Another alternative that you can use with an infinity pool is an inflatable kayak. These inflatable boats can be used in both fresh and saltwater environments and come in several different sizes so that we can fit in almost any size infinity pool. The best part is that they’re very easy to set up and they can be used almost anywhere.  Another great alternative is an inflatable stand-up paddleboard. These are paddleboards that have been inflated so that they can sit on the ground, standing up. They are typically made from a material like PVC and come in both small and large sizes.

Release stress and provide exercise:

Swimming is considered the best form of physical activity, building muscle strength and endurance while limiting joint pain. Prolonged physical activity releases endorphins in the brain, which send out feel-good signals – and it reduces cortisol, the stress hormone. Therefore, swimming back and forth across the pool a few times gets the blood pumping and naturally floods your body with a happy feeling.

If you’ve considered a pool for any of the above reasons, consider the benefits of the infinite style.
