If you’re looking to buy luxury real estate in Los Angeles or the city of Angels, there are quite a few things you need to know first. Los Angeles county and the huge metroplex within it are comprised of the best and most famous neighborhoods in the whole country. Even if you’re selling luxury real estate, you need to know about what buyers want from these neighborhoods. The purpose of this blog is to mention some of the best neighborhoods in Los Angeles and then try to conclude which one is the best. But first, let’s look at the reasons why people prefer to live in Los Angeles county.

Perks of Buying Luxury Real Estate in Los Angeles County

Here are the benefits of buying real estate in and living in Los Angeles:

Los Angeles is full of golden opportunities for almost anyone who has big dreams. People from all over the world come to this part of the United States to achieve their goals in life. In particular, those people who want to be associated with the entertainment industry come and live in or around this city.

Speaking of entertainment, this place is the hub of the U.S. entertainment industry. With Hollywood right at the core of the county, many celebrities call it their home. Moreover, here is where most of your favorite movies have been shot.

Some neighborhoods in Los Angeles county are the epitome of luxurious living. You will find out more about this when we describe the neighborhoods in detail. Don’t forget that you can live here only if you have a lot of money in your bank account. These neighborhoods sure are expensive!

The climate of Los Angeles County and the surrounding areas are extremely friendly. California is known for its mild weather. It rarely faces any harsh winter storms like the ones the east coast faces multiple times a year.
The scenery in Los Angeles County is extra special because it offers a unique combination of the ocean, mountains, forest, and desert!

So, the idea of living in Los Angeles County is attractive, right? Once your mind is fixed on buying real estate here, there are numerous other considerations too. You’ll need to do your research about the individual neighborhoods within this county to see which one suits your needs the best. You don’t need to go anywhere for research. Just read this blog till the end to make an informed decision.

Best Neighborhoods in Los Angeles

This section talks about a few neighborhoods in detail. These include Beverly Hills, Bel Air, Hollywood Hills, Malibu, Paradise Cove Bluffs, and the Pacific Palisades.

Beverly Hills

Beverly Hills luxury real estate is considered to be the most luxurious in Los Angeles county. There are a number of reasons for this claim. People who live here want more than just an average house to live in. The biggest homes in Beverly Hills here have amenities and features that you can rarely find elsewhere. From top-notch security systems to state-of-the-art driveway designs, residents of Beverly Hills have got it all. The homes also have swimming pools, Jacuzzis, extensive lawns, backyards, and fountains. In short, Beverly Hills is where you should buy a house if you’re in love with modern luxury.

In addition to this, this neighborhood offers a lot of convenience to its residents. It is just outside the busy metropolis of Los Angeles, but not far enough, as you can reach downtown in under 20 minutes. Santa Monica beach, Hollywood, and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is also less than 20 minutes away. You also have options to choose from within Beverly Hills, such as The Flats, Beverly Hills Gateway, or the Trousdale Estates. These areas range from low flat land to higher land with breathtaking views.

Furthermore, there are plenty of great shopping and dining places in Beverly Hills that both residents and tourists can enjoy. For casual dining, don’t forget to visit Urth Caffé. For shopping, you can find all the top brands from around the world at South Beverly Drive. Whatever you need, you can find it here in the shopping complexes in Beverly Hills.

Bel Air

This is a residential enclave located right in the foothills of the Santa Monica mountains. As soon as you leave the flat land and go up to Sunset Boulevard, you’ll see that the roads start twisting and turning their way into the hills. You’ll also see two grand gates that will lead you into the Bel Air residential enclave. Bel Air forms the golden triangle together with Beverly Hills and Holmby Hills.

So, what makes Bel Air one of the best neighborhoods? This area is known for its massive mansions and estates. The lot sizes on which these are built are simply huge. One could walk for quite some time before the other end of the property comes into sight. The topography of the land allows people to construct terraced gardens inside their boundary walls. If you love grand-looking mansions and have the money, then buying real estate in Bel Air will be the right choice for you.

When it comes to shopping and dining, Bel Air is not far behind. All the shoppers crave to visit Robertson Boulevard for luxury shopping. This is located only 15 minutes away from Bel Air. It’s not unexpected if you walk into a celebrity at Robertson Boulevard or Bel-Air. The paparazzi also know where to find them. Also, if you want a lavish three-course meal alone or with a loved one, you can visit one of the many specialty restaurants located in Bel Air.

Hollywood Hills

Hollywood is a residential neighborhood in central Los Angeles. However, this area is not known for being residential. Instead, it is known as the heart of the U.S. entertainment industry. Young and old people alike are attracted to this part of town mainly because of its worldwide fame and recognition. The famous Hollywood sign is an important tourist attraction.

Countless celebrities call the Hollywood Hills their home. This is because they have close proximity to all the studios during the daytime for work and also close access to the nightlife of L.A. If you want to draw attention to yourself and have famous neighbors, buy a home in Hollywood hills. Your kids might go to the same school as a celebrity’s kids!

According to Tripadvisor, there are many awesome restaurants located in this area. These include Domingo’s Italian Deli, Tiago Coffee Bar & Kitchen, Magic Castle, Bossa Nova, El Compadre, and Yamashiro Hollywood. Moreover, living in Hollywood Hills offers residents an urban-suburban mix feel because it has expansive homes, apartments, condos, mansions, and estates over a large area of land away from the downtown. Finally, most people generally consider Hollywood to be a safe place to live in.

Malibu

This neighborhood is famous for the stunning 21 miles long coastline to the west of Los Angeles city. It is located right on the Pacific Coastal Highway, so accessibility is not a problem at all. If you love gorgeous white sand-sloping beaches and activities like swimming and surfing, then you might want to live close by and buy real estate in Malibu. However, you won’t get as much peace and quiet here as compared to neighborhoods like Beverly Hills and Bel Air. This is because it is a prime tourist spot for anyone who visits Los Angeles. It takes only 50 minutes to reach Malibu from downtown Los Angeles.

If you like beautiful landscapes, consider buying Malibu luxury real estate. You can walk out onto your patio and see the vast canyons meeting the pacific ocean and the water splashing on the rocks. And just beside this scenery, there’s a long white sand beach. Sit out there and sip a beer or wine with your partner or friends.

Furthermore, the town of Malibu is also famous for its many shopping areas and plazas. It has a wide collection of boutiques and retail outlets where you’ll find almost anything you need. If you’re a fan of seafood, you’re in luck in Malibu because almost every restaurant and café serves scrumptious seafood.

Paradise Cove Bluffs

Another neighborhood to choose is if you’re a fan of luxurious living in this area located near the town of Malibu. Paradise Cove Bluffs has one of the most expensive real estate markets in Los Angeles county. This is because it offers its residents many advantages at once. Firstly, one can live a calm and peaceful life here as there aren’t many tourists in the area. There are calm private white sand beaches where you can enjoy yourself or with your friends. Just lie down on the sand and experience the soothing atmosphere of this paradise.

The serene environment is not just limited to the beach. The bluffs are located at a height above the beach, and you can sit on your own patio and experience the natural beauty and calmness. A central café called the Paradise Cove Beach Café offers simple and convenient dining out opportunities. Gaze into the deep blue ocean while enjoying your meal at this café.

The town of Malibu is right next to the cove. So, if you want the hustle and bustle once in a while, you can always go to Malibu to spend the day. As we mentioned earlier, there are plenty of shopping opportunities in Malibu as well.

Pacific Palisades

This is a rich neighborhood located between the Santa Monica mountains and the Pacific Ocean. It is famous for its long coastline and 22-mile beachfront bike path. Just like in Malibu, the mountains meet the ocean here, and this gives rise to unmatched natural beauty. The area also has a few parks with hiking trails that have intermittent views of the ocean. If you decide to live in the palisades, you can easily keep yourself fit by making use of the ample park space.

Many homes in this neighborhood are set on high bluffs that overlook the beach and parks. The central area of the neighborhood is called “The Village” and has many restaurants, coffee shops, and boutiques. Much of the retail stores in this area are clustered around a single point which is the corner of Via De La Paz and Antioch Street. Also, there is a true feeling of community among the residents of the Palisades. This is because the residents hold frequent neighborhood-sponsored events in the parks here.

This area is called “L.A.’s best-kept secret” because it attracts fewer tourists than Santa Monica and Malibu, even though it offers the same or even better natural beauty and gorgeous ocean views.

Which One is the Best?

So, is there one best neighborhood in Los Angeles county? Well, the answer is no. The best neighborhood for you depends on your expectations and preferences as an individual. This blog mentioned all the features of a few top neighborhoods in the county. Now it’s up to you to decide where you’ll be most comfortable. You can decide based on real estate prices and weigh the benefits that the individual areas offer. Some neighborhoods offer a hilly landscape and winding roads, while others offer magnificent views of the Pacific ocean. So, what kind of person are you?
