The Golden Bulls was the original name of this restaurant, but with a simple change in the letter ‘s’, it could now be called The Golden Bull. It has been serving up excellent food for decades. It features steakhouse favorites and fresh seafood alongside veggie-centric dishes. A menu that is sure to please the whole family.
In recent years, the new owner of The Golden Bull was reinvigorated as they gave the west side classic steakhouse a minor facelift while preserving its old-school vibe and local draw.

STK Steakhouse
The ambiance and service were awesome. This restaurant seamlessly blends a modern steakhouse with a chic lounge into one. I went for happy hour and set at the bar. Everything on the happy hour menu was fire! That beef tartare! Yummy. Lollipop Filet! Yummy again. Salmon slider, the regular slider, the short rib meatball. All of it! Fire – the superior quality of traditional steakhouses. The cocktail I had was good too. I ordered 4 or 5 of them. I’m sure the dining experience is just as lovely. Every venue has a DJ to make the night feel lively and intimate. I would for sure return to the happy hour. What they offered to me was an extraordinary dining experience! They provide world-class service.

Nurs-Et Steakhouse Beverly House
Another phenomenal experience. Inviting ambiance, smiling and courteous waiters, and of course, delicious food.
When I got to try this, what I had was a salad with garden greens, fresh pomegranate, walnuts, Turkish goat cheese with cherry tomatoes, and more, giving you a burst of flavors!
Then, there was the Tomahawk steak which was simply tender, and juicy with the perfect snooker flavor. Very clean and fresh meat with some sprinkled salt flakes. Not to forget the crispy home fries with Nusret’s spices. A beautiful balance of creating a seasoned steak while maintaining the purity and simplicity of its natural flavors. You can tell the quality of the meat you are served here.
Then came Nusret’s most awaited Baklawa. I may spell Farshad’s name wrong (my apologies). That slice of freshly baked baklawa made with home churned butter, layer, and layers of thin flakes with an abundance of freshly chopped pistachios, and last but not least a layer of creamy ice cream filling which was being added at the table was just divine. I must confess it is great for sugar lovers like me but those who like less sweet baklawa may want to share that slice with the rest on the table.

Matu
I highly recommend Matu. What a meal we had here. At Matu, they only cook their steaks one way, “warm red”. This means rare to medium-rare so red thought out and warm center. Just the way a steak should cook and eaten. So if you’re a person that likes your steak to be cooked medium to well done, this is not the place for you. So for our dinner, we both order the $78 Waygu 5 Course Dinner. What a steal for the quality of meat that was served.
Course 1) Waygu Bone Broth: Delicious rich beef flavor. A good way to start is by warning the tummy and taste buds.
Course 2) Hand Cut Tartare: Talk about fresh raw meat. So tender and delicious.
Course 3) 47 Salad w/ Center Filet Cut: The salad was fantastic but the filet cut melts.
Course 4) Braised Beef Cheek over Celeriac Puree: Excellent. The cheek was braised to perfection so tender. The sauce was fantastic. Love the beefy flavor from the cheek.
Course 5) Ribeye with Baby Cauliflower: Once again, steak cooked perfectly over that wood fire. The cauliflower is delicious as well.
Extra) Maitake Mushrooms: Highly recommend ordering this as an extra side dish. Delicious earthy and slightly smokey taste.
Our server was fantastic. Overall we left Matu happy and full. Until next time.

They also have the best appetizers and side dishes, deliciously crafted by their chef!
-
Lawry’s The Prime Rib
Lawry’s is a great place for Prime Rib. Depending on my appetite, I always get the Lawry’s Cut at medium-rare. It’s delicious! The cut is approximately 16 ounces a la carte, and you order all the sides which include their savory-sweet corn, cheesy macaroni, and cheese, or their chopped spinach. You can also order a freshly tossed garden salad, which they prepare it in front of you. They also serve huge baked potatoes stuffed with sour cream, green onions, bacon bits, etc.
My prime rib has been delicious each time. Ordered at medium rare, doesn’t always mean medium rare. Sometimes it’s medium to medium-well depending on where the server cuts it. I’m pretty easygoing, so anything with the word medium in it is fine. Served with aji sauce, and touched in horse radish makes it perfect.

CUT Beverly Hills
Cut exceeded my expectations! We tried this on a Friday evening and the restaurant was packed. Glad we made reservations! The restaurant is very clean with modern decor. The servers were very attentive, refilling our water glasses every 10 minutes. We ordered artisan bread, oysters, and beet tartare as appetizers. My favorite was the beet tartare eaten with artisan bread. The sweet-savory beet with goat cheese was so delicious and eaten with the bread. For mains, we ordered the tomahawk steak and Japanese wagyu steak to share. The tomahawk steak was huge! But the wagyu was very tiny. But for how fatty the wagyu is, I probably couldn’t have eaten more than the small slice I ate. For dessert, the waiters brought out cheesecake for the birthday girl, and we also got the banana cream pie. The banana cream pie was so heavenly and came with banana-flavored ice cream on the side. I wish I could have it in the form of a whole cake!

Carlitos Gardel Argentine Steakhouse
The food here is amazing. Mouthwatering dishes and desserts. Everything we ordered was perfection. The steak was perfectly done just the way we asked for, lamb chops were melting in your mouth. We were told it’s marinated in red wine overnight. Imagine that. The creamed spinach was a hit with all of us and the Argentinian wine we selected was amazing.
We rarely have dessert after meals but we couldn’t pass on the homemade desserts here. We ordered three (don’t remember the names) and all of them were delicious (see in my pictures) …. Whatever you do Don’t skip the dessert…
About the wines, their extensive wine collection is curated by the Court of Master Sommeliers and Max Bozoghlian, who are both certified masters!
The service is great! The restaurant also features an old-world charm that captures Buenos Aires’ Parisian influence as well as rustic wood paneling and the atmosphere is very pleasant.

How to keep steak fresh
The best steakhouse in Beverly Hills is a place that serves up some of the most delicious food you’ve ever had. But the prime reason for that is because the chefs use high-quality ingredients to create dishes with an elegant, yet classic style. One key way to keep your steak fresh is by storing it properly when you bring it home from the restaurant. You keep a sealable plastic bag on top of the plate or dish and put it in the refrigerator for up to 2 days after cooking, preferably wrapped tightly with aluminum foil. Never store raw meat near other foods that can spoil such as onions, potatoes, or eggs because bacteria spread through those kinds of products easily.

Different Wines to partner with delicious steaks
There are some iconic pairings that are burned into our collective consciousness. A classic example is peanut butter and jelly! Another one is salty and sweet; think about a bag of chips with a candy bar inside, or potato chips dipped in chocolate. Another famous pairing would be jeans and t-shirts – the two go together best for the most part. But, there is one combo that beats all the other combos – at least, if you love wine and meat.
Wine is great with steak because wine provides an acidic tang and a delightful sweetness that pairs perfectly with the salty, fatty, umami butteriness of steak. You should be drinking a big glass (or two) and savoring your meal in order to take full advantage of this flavor combination,
whether you’re celebrating a special occasion like an anniversary or promotion at a steakhouse, cooking yourself some dry-aged Wagyu beef filet on the grill – or just living your best life and eating ribeye steak Tuesday night, indulging is all the better when you know it’s paired with a wine that’s perfect.
First things first: let’s clear a few things up. You don’t want to start experimenting until you learn the basics, which is why we’re dedicating this article to teaching you how to begin.
Old Fashioned cocktails with steak are delicious, but you should choose a wine that complements the flavor of the meat.
Red wine is the perfect choice to accompany red meat such as steak. It’s easy to remember – red meat gets wine (or cheese). White meat like chicken or fish should be served with a white, while pork can easily be paired with either of these options.
You have to know the rules before you can break them. So, start with experimenting with pairings of high-quality red wine and steak-like a Pinot Noir or Cabernet Sauvignon.
Without further ado, here are our top 5 red wine styles that pair well with steaks.
1. Cabernets
You can’t go wrong with a cabernet – often called the “people pleaser” of red wines. There are a huge number of cabernets available, and they usually have a very balanced flavor that’s perfect for beginners.
2. Zinfandel
Zinfandel is a great choice if you tend to enjoy sweeter wines, rather than acidic and “dry” wines which are heavy in tannins and other flavor compounds.
3. Malbec
Malbec is a bolder red wine, with a dark and inky color and a rich flavor profile full of tannins. However, despite this, Malbec does not have a woody or oaky aroma, but a more fruity profile, with juicy notes of citrus and other fruits.
-
Syrah (Shiraz)
Looking for a red wine that goes beautifully with cuts of steak that have more fat, like ribeye? A Syrah varietal is a perfect choice. Cuts of steak like ribeye often require a heavier, more robust wine to balance them and provide a counterpoint to the richness of the fatty, marbled meat.
-
Your Own Favorite Red
Here’s the thing about pairing red wine with steak – it’s hard to go wrong if you just choose your favorite! Even if it’s a wine that’s not on this list, such as a Merlot, Pinot Noir, or Sangiovese – or even a blend.
