Living in Malibu Luxury Homes – What is it Like?

Read till the end to find out what life is like in Malibu!

Some people dream of visiting Malibu and relaxing under the warm sun on the gorgeous white sand, and sloping beaches there. Imagine what it would be like to wake up each morning in this neighborhood and have the same dream beaches only a few steps away from your front door. Yes, that’s what some people call luxury! If you are one of these people, consider moving into one of the Malibu luxury homes.

Malibu is a neighborhood on the west side of Los Angeles County and is located on the Pacific Coastal Highway. It is known for its gorgeous 21-mile-long Malibu Pacific Coastline. The town has amazing topography because it’s where the mountains and deep canyons meet the ocean, giving rise to spectacular natural beauty.

Los Angeles: The Dream County

The mild and beautiful weather in this county allows people to have an outdoor lifestyle. They are rarely confined to their homes because of weather issues. Almost every day is a sunny day in Malibu and the whole of Los Angeles County. Furthermore, we call it the dream county because people move here to make their dreams come true. Whether they dream of working in the gigantic film industry and Hollywood or want the best culinary and retail experience, buying a home in Los Angeles County will set them on their way to happiness.

The county is also famous because hundreds of celebrities call it home. Although they live in huge mansions in quiet areas to avoid tourists and paparazzi, they can be often seen in shopping districts and restaurants. If you want to have celebrity neighbors and friends, you should consider moving to one of the posh neighborhoods of Los Angeles County.

In addition to this, if you’re a fan of natural beauty and the deep blue ocean, there’s no other place you should buy a home than Malibu. In fact, the whole of Los Angeles County is near the ocean, and you can view the majestic sight of the Santa Monica mountains meeting the Pacific Ocean. In the next section, you’ll find more information about life in Malibu.

What is it Like to Live in Malibu?

This section will outline how much real estate costs in Malibu and how life is there in general. Read till the end if you’re looking to buy one of the Malibu Luxury Homes, as you’ll get a clear idea of what to expect from life while you’re a resident of Malibu. You can also take advantage of the following information if you want to sell your Malibu luxury home. Once you know what your neighborhood offers, you can attract buyers in a better way.

To be accurate, this section will talk about Malibu’s average house prices, general living costs, luxurious modern homes in Malibu, fantasy beaches, accessibility of the neighborhood, and finally, dining, shopping, and entertainment opportunities in the area. So, let’s jump right in.

Housing Prices

Malibu is one of the most expensive neighborhoods in Los Angeles County. You’ll see the factors that make it so great later in this blog. According to Zillow.com, the typical home price in Malibu is around $3.5 million and has increased approximately 7.2% in the last year. Some of the wealthiest people in the country live in this neighborhood. Within Malibu, there is a great deal of variation in home prices. Prices depend on factors such as whether the home has an ocean view or not and how close it is to the beach. And obviously, prices also depend on the size of the property. According to payscale.com, the housing prices in Malibu are 626% higher than the national average. The most expensive house in Malibu is a huge mansion with its own private beach and is valued at $115 million!

Malibu homes for sale include large beach houses, mansions overlooking the ocean, and apartments that are built at a height and have great views. The most expensive properties are the Malibu houses for sale on the beach. If you’re fond of the sound of calm ocean waves splashing against the sand and stunning views of the blue water, consider buying a Malibu ocean view beach house.

Living Costs

Do you have enough money to buy a luxury home in Malibu? Maybe yes. However, it is crucial to note that this is not the only huge cost. The overall cost of living in Malibu is 180% higher than in the rest of the United States. To put this into perspective, if something costs $100 on average, it will cost around $280 in Malibu! The utilities cost 8% more than the national average, while groceries are 12% more expensive.

This is just a heads-up so that you can plan your expenses accordingly. You need almost twice the national average income to be able to live a happy life in this part of California. However, with high cost comes great value. If you live in Malibu Luxury Homes, you won’t even feel for a second that your money is going to waste. In the following few sections, let’s look at what makes this neighborhood so great to live in.

Accessibility

One of the most important considerations for any place to live is its accessibility. You can surely tick off accessibility for Malibu Luxury Homes. This beach neighborhood is easily accessible by the Pacific Coastal Highway (PCH), and it is only a 50-minute drive from downtown Los Angeles. The whole town is centered around the Highway. So, the chances are that the famous PCH will be a few minutes’ walks from your place if you buy real estate in Malibu. Also, you can find pretty much everything you might need in town.

However, accessibility also has a major drawback. The public beaches in Malibu are always swarming with hundreds of tourists. So, unless you have access to a private beach, you won’t be able to enjoy the ultimate experience of living in Malibu.

Luxury

Malibu luxury real estate consists of huge mansions and estates aligned neatly against the long Malibu coastline. Most luxury homes in this neighborhood have an ocean view (or else what’s the point of living in Malibu, right?). This place is called home by big stars like Barbra Streisand, Pierce Brosnan, and Matthew McConaughey. Malibu celebrity homes are known for their size and world-class amenities such as swimming pools, spas, gyms, wine bars, and private beaches.

Malibu offers a highly luxurious lifestyle to its residents. If you choose to live in Malibu, say goodbye to all the stresses in life and get ready to enjoy the warm Californian sun by the beach all year round. You can also go on a Malibu Wine Safari to taste the best quality wine in the whole region.

Beaches

A blog about Malibu Luxury Homes cannot be complete without mentioning the beautiful beaches of Malibu. They provide the ultimate relaxation that anyone can think of. The gently sloping white sand and shallow water make these beaches ideal for wading, swimming, and bodysurfing in the water. According to TripAdvisor, the 10 best beaches in Malibu include El Matador State Beach, Zuma Beach, Leo Carrillo State Park and Beach, Paradise Cove, Malibu Lagoon State Beach, Topanga Beach, Carbon Beach, Surfrider Beach, El Pescador State Beach, and Broad Beach.

If you want to spot celebrities hanging out on the beach, you must visit Carbon (Billionaire’s) Beach. However, famous people are often touchy if you trespass on their turf. Then, Zuma Beach is an excellent backup where no one will mind your presence. If you’re lucky, a few celebrities might also feel like visiting this beach that day!

Dining

Malibu is home to numerous cuisines and offers a lavish culinary experience. Geoffrey’s Malibu, The Sunset Restaurant, Nobu Malibu, Moon Shadows, Mastro’s Ocean Club, and Nicolas Eatery are some of the fine dining options available here. Residents and tourists can enjoy luxurious seafood and continental food, among all the other cuisines present here. Some of Malibu’s restaurants are also famous for offering a romantic ambiance. Don’t worry if you prefer to dine out casually instead. There are many cafes dotted all along the coastline, and they serve tasty snacks and main courses in a relaxed and casual environment.

One particular restaurant, Paradise Cove Beach Café, is famous for its Southern Californian ambiance. Moreover, you can sip a cocktail while enjoying gorgeous views of the calm and blue ocean while you’re here.

Shopping

Residents of Malibu Luxury Homes have wide access to plenty of retail options. When friends meet up in Malibu, the number one activity they do is shopping. The most popular shopping center is the Malibu Village, located just off the Pacific Coastal Highway. This area has an expansive collection of high-end retail outlets and boutiques. Here, you can find most luxury brands for apparel, handbags, watches, makeup, gadgets, and much more. Other shopping hotspots in Malibu include The Oaks Shopping Center, Trancas Country Mart, Point Dume Village, and Promenade at Westlake. All these places are ideal for shopping. In short, if you’re looking for an upscale retail experience, don’t hesitate to decide to live in Malibu.

Activities and Entertainment

Malibu is a fun place to live because of the many activities it offers. You can go hiking on the relatively easy three-mile Grotto Trail or visit the 150-foot tall Escondido Falls. If you prefer a more picturesque route, consider going on a hike to Solstice Canyon in the Santa Monica mountains. You’ll surely get lovely views of the ocean. Also, Malibu has some fine clubhouses, tennis courts, basketball courts, and playgrounds for children.

Furthermore, Malibu has extravagant nightlife. The whole neighborhood is full of bars and clubs that are open late into the night. There are quite a few areas for adult entertainment too. If you love partying, then buying a luxury home in Malibu is the right choice for you.

I do like the way you have presented this specific situation and it does give me personally some fodder for consideration. On the other hand, from what precisely I have experienced, I simply wish when the feedback pile on that men and women stay on issue and don’t embark on a soap box involving the news of the day. Still, thank you for this fantastic piece and although I do not necessarily agree with the idea in totality, I value the perspective.
