Top 10 Dessert Restaurants in BH
1. Better Than Sex A Dessert Restaurant
You can have the best desserts in a speakeasy-like atmosphere. It features chocolate and caramel-covered wines, beers, and house-made cocktails! And unlike other restaurants where tables are close together with no privacy between them, their tables have walls or curtains placed to offer a sense of intimacy during your meal.

Each treat served at Magnolia Bakery is crafted from scratch by hand and will always remind you of home. They made the classics to some iconic recipes over time, like buttercream-crowned cupcakes, elegant red velvet cake with cream cheese icing, and hummingbird cake. It has been in the city since the 1980s. They’ve grown to be quite famous for their classic American desserts-both baked goods and desserts.
Hands down their Banana pudding, is the best thing here. Everyone knows this and if you don’t then you have to try it! Be warned that they sell out very quickly but once you taste them you’ll understand why!
3. Churros Calientes
Incredible. Just incredible. If you’re looking for the best churros in the city, come here. If you want to meet a fantastic restaurant owner and staff, don’t wait and come on over to Churros Calientes. I have been stalking their hours and finally managed to swing by, the food and service were beyond incredible.
There’s a cute outdoor seating area, with some solid choices of salsa and ranchero music playing overhead at a good volume. The atmosphere is casual but upbeat, and conversations can easily be had in this cute area.
What’s different about their churros is that it is organic! They serve their products in an eco-friendly environment meant to promote socializing – the trend of public conviviality.
4.Bottega Louie – WEHO
I had a very nice experience here. The beautiful and clean setting, with lots of marble and gold accents, a really stunning bakery selection, and a nice modern menu.
If you love desserts then this is your sin city. Desserts technically make me so happy as if I’m a little kid in a wonderful wonderland. It was pure bliss for me. I can say that the desserts are SO GOOD. As someone who’s tried to make macarons many times, I can very much appreciate a beautiful end delicious macaron. Their flavors are so robust. I really like their Earl Grey and their pistachio. But every single one I’ve tried has been good.
All their desserts are so pretty! It makes me wanna just get everything. I also got their lemon tart which was also so good. The tart shell itself was a perfect texture, crumbly but still held together, buttery, and overall delish. The filling was also pretty good.
5. Milk Jar Cookies
The founder Courtney Cowan opened her first retail location in the spring of 2013. Her idea behind Milk Jar Cookies is to combine the warm, comforting joys of a cookie with the lush richness and complex flavors that come from enjoying it with a glass of milk. She sold out overnight. In 2017, Williams Sonoma approached Courtney about collaborating on a line of baking mixes, and soon after, the whole world was enjoying Milk Jar Cookies in their homes. The in-home experience has now expanded with Courtney’s first cookbook, Milk Jar Cookies Bakebook. Great history of a sweets shop!
6. Le Mervetty
Le Mervetty is I think, where everyone in the city goes for their daily dose of happiness, literally! With their amazing selection of macarons and other French desserts, a friendly staff that’s always happy to help you find something perfect, and Illy espresso drinks served 24 hours a day! Yes, 24 hours!
7. Bake Cheese Tart
The first time I went, I only bought one of each– chocolate and matcha. I instantly regretted not buying more as I ate them on my way home. I came back a week later and bought 6 original cheese tarts & it still was not enough.
Their cheese tarts are crafted to perfection with the finest ingredients from Hokkaido. I can describe it as fluffy and crispy!
8. Cafe Sheera
Their coffee shop has a full coffee and tea bar serving their specialty blends, Mariage Fréres tea, homemade pastries, and an extensive selection of coffees – the crowd’s favorites are their gourmet dates (not to mention the baklava), Jewelslattes! Don’t forget to take a picture in front of their renowned silk #DateMe™ flower wall!
9. Artelice Patisserie
Pretty little things! You’ll be hard-pressed to find desserts as beautiful as the ones at Artelice Patisserie. They are truly an art and every time I dig into one I feel bad destroying such a fanciful treat.
I’ve tried many items from the bakery and everything has been delicious. The grand standout for me has been the Roche chocolate – Hazelnut mousse, house-made praline combined with soft caramel, hazelnut sponge. Gorgeous and indulgently fantastic. Added bonus, I find their prices completely reasonable for such intricate designs and macarons are just $2 each. Those macarons are perfectly done with interesting and unique flavors available.
10. Bacio Di Latte
Bacio di Latte is a great spot for dessert. The mall itself has a few options for dessert but I would choose this gelato over all the desserts. Many different gelato flavors: the classics as well as unique ones. Don’t hesitate to ask for samples, the workers are more than willing to help you find your favorite flavor.
I got hazelnut, banana, and sweet cream; a weird combination but every flavor definitely was delicious. The banana flavor was good but definitely had a little sour aftertaste. I think frozen banana always has a slightly sour taste, so it is completely normal but throws off my taste buds when I’m eating Gelato. Hazelnut and sweet cream were both creamy and the perfect amount of sweet. Most gelato locations I’ve been to always have a little frostbite taste, but Bacio di Latte was so creamy and excellent gelato.
Gluten-Free Bakeries in Beverly Hills
Erin McKennas Bakery
Erin McKenna’s Bakery is the owner. Her business now is a success and has two rules:
1) to create a bakery without harmful ingredients
2) to wear cute uniforms.
True enough, they select all of their ingredients responsibly, use natural sweeteners and make sure that they are healthy foods. She wants to offer vegan and gluten-free comfort food in a natural way, so she is very glad that more people are on the journey of creating a healthier lifestyle with her!
Fōnuts
We are living in a crazy world nowadays, and our lives are chaotic too. And that we’re looking for peace in all the wrong places but we have to remember that life is about more than just nourishment. Donuts make us happy – they bring out some kind of primal creature within each one of us that craves sugary goodness! But why eat greasy fried donuts when you can indulge in something better? fōnuts are a delicious and better-for-you treat always baked fresh daily, with lots of loving-kindness every time you bite into one. Treat yourself better by eating a fōnut!
The founders of Fonuts, Nancy Truman and her husband Thom Furtado embraced the evolution to transform all your favorite flavors into 100% gluten-free – with low or no sugar added! And they always add new seasonal and vegan flavors.
Along with this transformation of recipes, Nancy and Thom dedicated the entire business to a more enlightened path. Every team member included them as part of their family. They embody kindness, creativity, and community values. Every fōnuts fan is included too!
The fōnuts story begins with a cup of coffee – the need for something yummy to go along with it! Nancy Truman, from L.A., always loved pairing her morning and afternoon cups of joe with baked goods. But after discovering her own gluten intolerance, she realized how hard it was to find healthy snacks–gluten-free or not–that reflected what she craved in taste and texture: crunchy on the outside but light on its core; satisfying yet still small enough that you could easily down them all day long.
Sidecar Doughnuts and Coffee
In Sidecar, they know that the best way to enjoy a doughnut is hot and fresh, paired with the perfect cup of coffee, and served with a smile. They think it’s important to make sure people are experiencing their food in this way so they live fully!
They use hand-crafted dough, fruit purees, and bacon as their ingredients in order to make their doughnuts delicious. Their team of experts works day in and day out mixing and rolling out hand-crafted dough, standing over simmering pots of fruit purees or sizzling pans of bacon. They also whip up fresh creams as well as custards to top it all off!
Their donuts are always hand-crafted and prepared fresh for every customer. From the moment you step into one of their shops, you’ll surely agree that Sidecar is not your ordinary experience.
Awan
There is some major food science going on there, it’s terrifying – very easily the best vegan ice cream around when it comes to taste and texture. The Meyer lemon flavor scares customers with how good it is. You order from a cute little window and they’ve got these little sampler spoons that you want to steal. Will certainly have to come back often as they rotate in new flavors.
Fatamorgana Gelato
They create delicious gelato in the classic Italian style at Fatamorgana. They start with milk and simple ingredients like water, sugar cane, and flour. From there they create their premium flavors from scratch without any processed products like preservatives or artificial flavorings – just fresh raw ingredients that are carefully chosen to ensure a perfect blend of taste sensations every time! Their business is founded on doing things differently, which starts with even our most basic of flavors. They serve classics like vanilla and chocolate but use exclusively pure vanilla beans and feature over 16 different types of chocolate in their product line. Many of their flavors are created by combining and experimenting with fresh herbs, spices, and fruit. Check out their lab window for inspiration! They have a variety of inventive flavor combinations to offer as well.
Best Spot for Gelato in Beverly Hills
E. Baldi
The owner’s mother, originally from Piacenza in Emilia-Romagna, paired her love of homemade pasta and ravioli with traditional Tuscan recipes to always create memorable meals. The owner worked to recreate this style and its sensibilities at E. Baldi. His dishes never boast too many ingredients or flavors. Rather, she focuses on combining a few ingredients to showcase their true flavors in a distinctly creative way.
He enjoys creating every course dessert because it is his ultimate passion. This is why he went to study under the legendary baker and pastry chef in Tuscany, Angelo Baldini. Baldini taught him the history behind Tuscan desserts and how to make them. Too many food critics here, Italian desserts are overlooked while to all Italians the final taste is essential and sacred.
He truly loves making this food for the customers and hopes he will love experiencing it as much as he did as a child and still does today.
Best for Late Night Sugar Cravings
The first-ever Sprinkles that started the cupcake craze is located in Beverly Hills. This place was home to the Cupcake ATM which dispensed fresh and delicious bakery items 24 hours a day. The Red Velvet is their most popular flavor as well as seasonal flavors like Key Lime during summer and Caramel Apple around Halloween time! You can also enjoy slow-churned ice cream with other desserts made from fresh ingredients such as sundaes and floats and they have an ice cream shop next door. If you’re near here, you can have your cupcake any time of the day and night!
Chaumont Bakery & Café is the best for French pastries and bakery, stateside.
I will just write this shop’s history! Two former Parisians established Chaumont Bakery and Café in Beverly Hills. They brought authentic French standards and premier treats to the city. In France, a bakery cannot be called a “bakery” if it freezes or otherwise stores raw or pre-cooked dough before baking it – this regulation exists in Beverly Hill’s version of culture, but Chaumont is sticking with their country’s tradition by only baking freshly proofed dough each morning at 3 am.
After going through a number of trials and tribulations including having their initial menu judged as the worst in America, Chaumont has finally hit the big time! Their hard work is paying off with celebrity chef Ludo LeFevre calling their croissants “the best he has had in all of America!” They offer colorful handcrafted pastries to both your taste buds and eyes on display.
Edelweiss Chocolates has been around for over 70 years.
A trip to the candy store! And not just any candy store…it was a very special candy store: Edelweiss Chocolates of Beverly Hills. What a treat!
A small but elegant boutique, Edelweiss has been making their delicious premium handmade chocolates in their Beverly Hills factory since 1942. Edelweiss is a long-time favorite of many celebrity clients, and for good reason: You can literally taste the fresh quality ingredients, and their chocolates, marshmallows, and confections are made from scratch with love.
They said they have been the recipient of some of the world’s most famous people, from presidents or princes to producers and entertainers.
Ladurée: Best Passion Fruit Macaron
Ambiance: the aesthetic and look of the establishment is exactly what I expected and just so perfect. I love the pink and mint green color. Just everything about the look of the place was super chic, welcoming, and Instagram-able.
Food: OMG!! I haven’t had a croissant in 3+ years as a vegan and these were the best croissants I think I’ve ever had in my life. They were so flakey and buttery and just melted in my mouth. I loved it so much that I got a second one to go. We also ordered macrons which were all so amazing and perfect. I also got the raspberry Isfahan and it tasted just as luxurious as it looked.
Le Mervetty: Best for Show Stopper Milkshakes
Le Mervetty is a French-based pastry shop that includes all in-house-made macaroons, red velvet cakes, etc! They are what you call authentic! The lady that helped us was extremely nice and a French native! I have to say one of the best macaroons I’ve ever had. This place has the highest quality pastries I’ve seen. 10/10 would recommend. The best flavor macaroons I recommend are the lemon flavor and chocolate flavor! Cheers.
Beverly Hills Teuscher Chocolates of Switzerland
World-class chocolates! When those three magic words are said there is only one chocolatier that comes to mind, Teuschers. Born in the Swiss alps, Teuscher’s is hands down my favorite chocolate in the world. There are a limited amount of locations around the US and if you’re lucky enough to live in one of these cities, I highly recommend taking advantage of the situation.
Now there are so many options to choose from as they truly have an exhaustive list, but the highlight for sure is their Champagne truffles. These delicious treats are like tasting chocolate from heaven. They are quite pricey, but worth every cent. Their coffee is also quite nice and delicious. They have lattes and cappuccinos to enjoy until your heart is content and you can even throw in a chocolate liquor ball to spice things up. Stop in during the holidays and grab some of their seasonally inspired chocolates.
Diane Krön Chocolatier: Jacqueline Kennedy’s Favorite Chocolates
I walked past this chocolate shop while walking around Beverly Hills and was immediately intrigued – it was a small cute shop right along Santa Monica boulevard a 2-minute walk from the rodeo drive. The shop boldly claimed – “the Rolls Royce of chocolate”. I don’t know much about chocolates, but I was curious and decided to go in.
It is a tiny, tiny shop, almost a kiosk size, but the presentation of the chocolates was done beautifully and just draws you in. As soon as we walked in the three people in the shop immediately helped us and offered huge, full-size samples. No small cut-up samples at this shop! I was really surprised by how generous they were.
As for the taste – oh the taste! I have been to Switzerland multiple times, the country with the most famed chocolate in the world. And I have to say that this place quite rivals it! It’s highly recommended and one of the best chocolates I’ve ever had. Give it a try! They make beautiful gifts with amazing packaging also. These are sure to impress!
