The city of Beverly Hills in California is one of the most sought-after and well-known cities in the world, recognized for its extravagance and luxurious lifestyle. It’s a city so well-known that it’s been featured in songs, movies, and other forms of media for decades. It’s reasonable to say that Beverly Hills lives up to the reputation, regardless of where you reside in the world.

It’s frequently regarded as one of the most expensive places to live in the country, and it is home to some of the country’s most notable people, including established professionals, celebrities, and even former presidents. There aren’t many reasons for people to leave the community, with beautiful California weather, award-winning food, and lots of luxury retail alternatives.

This is one of Los Angeles’ most elite neighborhoods. Residing here has numerous advantages, but arguably the most important advantage is the reputation that comes with living in this section of California. Beverly Hills is one of the wealthiest areas of Los Angeles, and it is renowned as one of the most sumptuous locations in the city. It is also home to many well-known celebs.

It is evident that you will not find any place like Beverly Hills in all of Los Angeles, and that is the primary reason that makes this place so special. People want to buy property here for a lifetime. Whether you’re looking for a new home or merely visiting the city to take photos at one of the city’s famous sites, here’s what makes Beverly Hills different from the rest of Los Angeles.

There appears to have always been something remarkable about the site that became Beverly Hills throughout history. The ancient occupants, the Tongva, saw it as a type of oasis in a semi-arid area, which they dubbed “the gathering of the waters” metaphorically. Don Jose Gaspar de Portolà, a Spanish explorer, recognized it as well, and when his expedition came across the Tongva’s Eden, he translated the term into Spanish as El Rodeo de las Aguas.

However, the arrival of Europeans brought a slew of problems, starting with smallpox, which became the cause of death for the majority of the population of Tongva. After that, Maria Rita Valdez Villa, the African-Mexican widow of a Spanish soldier, received the 4,500 acres that make up the center of today’s Beverly Hills from the governor of the Mexican-controlled California territory in 1838.

What makes Beverly Hills so special?

She established a cattle and horse farm and erected an indigenous residence in what would become Alpine Drive and Sunset Boulevard currently. Livestock roamed wherever they pleased but were herded to a rodeo near today’s intersection of Pico and Robertson Boulevards once a year.

Maria Rita’s large farm was invaded by Native Americans in 1852, and she survived the assault and shoot-out. This may probably have affected her decision to sell her farm to Henry Hancock and Benjamin Wilson two years later. The waterways dried up a few years later, followed by a protracted drought that killed their animals as well.

The posh Hancock Park suburb and local topographical landmark Mount Wilson are also named after Hancock and Wilson. By 1868, Edward Preuss purchased the land and planned to construct a Santa Maria village for immigrant German farmers. Meanwhile, he converted the farm into lima bean fields and sold his produce to pay his taxes. However, this could not continue for a long time because of another long drought hitting this area of land.

Henry Hammel and Charles Denker bought the property in the early 1880s with the idea of developing Morocco, a North African-themed neighborhood. That concept was quickly put to rest when the United States economy collapsed in 1888. The farm’s prospects began to improve around 1900. The bean field was then purchased on behalf of the Integrated Oil Company by a group of oil speculators led by Burton E. Green. Green and his colleagues renamed their company the Rodeo Land and Water Company in 1906. Green and his wife dubbed the bean field Beverly Hills after Beverly Farms, Massachusetts.

Although the first house was finished in 1907, purchases were slow. Green constructed the Beverly Hills Hotel on the spot where the waters formerly pooled in 1912 to pique the curiosity of possible owners. The opulent hotel acted as a de facto city hall, community center, movie theatre, and place of religious devotion for both visitors and locals.

By the First World War, the surrounding population had grown to the point that Beverly Hills could be incorporated as a city, but the proper expansion didn’t begin until Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbanks, the era’s most beautiful Hollywood couple, acquired a property on Summit Drive and named it Pickfair. A slew of movie actors, directors, and producers followed their trendy lead.

And as we say, the rest is history. At present, Beverly Hills has become the central hub for the most famous celebrities. Furthermore, many entrepreneurs and rich personalities have found Beverly Hills one of the most luxurious and peaceful places to live in.

Along with the present-day exceptional structural houses, the city also deems a rich history which is all stated above. Thus, people who live in Beverly Hills are also fond of it. A place depicting such a rich history as well as providing all the tops class amenities of life is surely a dream place live. that is why Beverly Hills is different from the rest of Los Angeles, in fact, from the rest of the world.

What Makes Beverly Hills Different?

The Beverly Wilshire and Beverly Hills Hotel, as well as surrounding notable properties such as the Greystone Mansion and the Virginia Robinson Gardens, make Beverly Hills an important cultural center. The Paley Center for Media and the adjoining Frederick R. Weisman Art Museum, both in Beverly Hills, have noteworthy museums, including the Paley Center Media and the adjoining Frederick R. Weisman Art Museum, which showcases rotating exhibits of prominent contemporary artists.

What makes Beverly Hills different?

An outdoor farmer’s market held weekly to the Golden Globes, held annually at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, are just a few of the breathtaking events that take place in the 90210. Another cultural gem on the way to being developed is the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts, housed in the historic Beverly Hills Post Office that will soon be open to the public. There’s something for everyone in Beverly Hills.

During July and August, the Cañon Summer Concert Series, which features outdoor live performances of all genres in Cañon Gardens, will delight music fans. The abundance of art galleries in Beverly Hills will enchant art lovers. These are just some of the remarkable places which differentiate Beverly Hills from the rest of Los Angeles. Below, I will tell you some of the most fascinating features of Beverly Hills.

High-Quality Living

Beverly Hills is not only known for its wealth, but it is also one of L.A.’s most popular tourist destinations. Rodeo Drive, as well as other luxury establishments, are located here. Given that it is nearly replete with over-the-top estates and palaces, the city isn’t afraid to flaunt its celebrity.

The best thing about living in Beverly Hills is the sheer lifestyle the people there have. The standard of living is of the highest quality that can be achieved in the whole of the United States. That is why everyone wants to stay in that particular area. Since everyone wants the best way of living for their children and family, Beverly Hills ticks all the boxes of such a dream home.

Beverly Crest, which is part of one of the most expensive zip codes in the country, is one of the swankiest communities in Beverly Hills. According to real estate data, Beverly Crest’s median selling prices have been continuously growing, with the current typical price hovering at $2.2 million.

With such a high quality of living where all the basic facilities are available for your children and family, Beverly Hills has become the highest-selling property in L.A. Therefore, there is very stiff competition between the buying parties when it comes to buying a house in this esteemed locality.

What makes Beverly Hills different?

Exceptional Community Environment

Despite the fact that Beverly Hills is bustling with tourists during the day, long-term inhabitants find the neighborhood to be rather quiet, family-friendly, laid-back, and, of course, ritzy. The city distinguishes itself out because it provides both a metropolitan and a laid-back suburban environment.

It is a fact that due to the popularity of the area, many people come here daily to see the residents of their favorite celebrities. Moreover, there are some of the world’s best hotels, restaurants, and amusement parks available in the area. These are also the source of such a huge number of people visiting the place.

Despite this all, the area is quite peaceful and has a friendly vibe to it. You can understand this by a simple example of a large number of celebrities living in the area. Celebrities often want those types of places to live, which have peaceful surroundings. That is because they are usually working with too many people and attending shows with a large audience.

When such people are living in Beverly Hills, it means that the area is quite peaceful and has a friendly community where privacy is not compromised. While the tourist destinations are closer to the city’s core, on Rodeo Drive, where attractions, stores, and restaurants are located, Beverly Hills has around 70 little pocket villages that are exclusive to locals and closed to the public.

Overall, the neighborhood is small, quiet, safe, and large. After 9 p.m., everything becomes dark, and it’s a very pleasant environment. Locals outside of Beverly Hills, on the other hand, would likely tell you that there is a lot of traffic and little to no parking throughout the day.

Rich history

I have discussed the rich history of Beverly Hills in quite a bit of detail. It is one of the primary reasons that make Beverly Hills a distinguished place in all of Los Angeles. However, there are also some historical buildings in the locality that are of significance. I will discuss these in this section of our article.

What makes Beverly Hills so special?

The billionaire mansion-filled Beverly Park, which is divided into North Beverly Park and South Beverly Park, is one of the city’s most architecturally spectacular areas. While North Beverly Park is more of a celebrity-studded neighborhood with midcentury modern to ultra-contemporary homes, South Beverly Park is home to the city’s historic estates.

Furthermore, the Stahl House is a fascinating place to see. You must visit if you are a lover of architecture or a Case Study House, or even if you simply enjoy a wonderful view. Apart from these landmarks listed here, there are numerous places that Beverly Hills offer. They are not only for the tourists to see but also depict the cultural and historical significance of this place.

Many people want to live in this locality where the historic buildings are nearby. They also want to be a part of history, and that is what makes Beverly Hills stand out from all the other areas of Los Angeles.

Basic facilities and entertainment

Beverly Hills is home to a plethora of attractions and entertainment places. However, many of these sites are only open throughout the day. Rodeo Drive’s luxury boutiques and cafés invite visitors who want to explore, dine, and shop.

As far as the basic facilities are concerned, the educational facilities available to the children in the area are excellent and high-quality. You can send your children to school without any doubts about the education system there. Not only will your children excel in academic activities but also, they will be superior to others in extracurricular activities such as sports.

All the latest accessories which are necessary for your life are available in the markets of Beverly Hills. All of the world’s renowned brands have shops in the malls of Beverly Hills, so you will not have to travel far. Every basic facility of life is available in this area.

Wally’s Beverly Hills, Urth Caffe, and The Cheese Store are just a few of the district’s most prominent establishments, although there are many more such places to visit. There are numerous sightseeing and picturesque locations as well. Visitors are encouraged to snap photographs at one of the city’s numerous must-see attractions, such as Greystone Mansion, Mulholland Drive, or The Golden Triangle.

Even if the city’s nightlife is restricted, visitors to Beverly Hills can still enjoy exclusive events and fun-filled lounges at some of the community’s premium boutique hotels, such as SLS Hotel, The Four Seasons, or Sofitel Los Angeles.

Having your own Emergency Department

This one trait of living in Beverly Hills tops the list. Emergency departments such as fire stations and police stations are essential facilities for living peacefully in an area. The best thing about Beverly Hills is that it contains its own fire station and police station.

When such emergency departments are near your home, valuable time is saved when God forbids an emergency to happen. Having departments within the jurisdiction also helps in removing the confusion of which section of fire or police station will deal with the emergency.

Moreover, people live peacefully if they see the departments near their homes. A sense of security prevails all over the community and the society, as a whole, prospers. People want to live in such localities where such kinds of facilities are nearby, and that is one of the reasons that the prices of residential homes are so hefty in Beverly Hills.

Finally, having a police station in your area considerably reduces the crime rate, and people can roam around the streets and play freely. Health emergency departments are also top-notch in Beverly Hills. There are some of the best hospitals in the locality, and the best treatment is provided in case of emergencies.

Fantastic recycling system

One of the great things about living in Beverly Hills is the recycling system the city has employed. There are no different colored trash cans outside for differentiating wastes. Sometimes, people get confused about throwing waste due to all these different colored boxes.

Instead, a more efficient way is employed by the city council in Beverly Hills. There is a single trash can available at each house, and the city council takes care of all types of trash from there. The employees of the council are given the job to differentiate the trash according to their types, and the trash that can be recycled is then sent to the recycling plant.

Thus, people do not have to get confused about throwing what type of garbage in which trash can. They only have to put all the trash in a single trash can, and the special employees of the city council will take care of the rest of the things.

What makes Beverly Hills different?

Central location

Beverly Hills residents also enjoy a number of other crucial advantages. Its position provides easy access to several of Los Angeles’ most intriguing areas. Living in Beverly Hills is similar to living in a tiny, opulent town or suburb, yet with the conveniences of a big metropolis. Beverly Hills feature a fantastic selection of stores and restaurants, including some of the most opulent in the world.

Furthermore, Beverly Hills is at the heart of Los Angeles, which means all the other places which are outside the city can be easily accessible as well. You will not have to travel long distances. Commutation is a big problem in today’s world and having a home in such a prime location is a blessing indeed.

Superb weather

Everyone usually brags about how beautiful California’s weather is. Well, it’s the truth! You’ll appreciate living in Beverly Hills if you prefer going for a walk in the sun and soaking up some vitamin D.

Beverly Hills area provides you with a pleasant yet temperate temperature all year. You may make the most of your move to Beverly Hills by spending your days outside. The great part is that the beach is literally around the corner! If you relocate here, you’ll be able to spend as much time as you like with your family at the beach.

Overall Ambiance

While the majority of Los Angeles, including Downtown Los Angeles, Hollywood, Marina del Rey, Culver City, and Century City, to mention a few, is changing and rebuilding. Beverly Hills hasn’t altered all that much in recent years. When it comes to school improvements, enhanced infrastructure, and new stores, the town is slowly changing. However, the city remains serene, multicultural, and peaceful in general.

This slow change is what makes Beverly Hills different from the rest of Los Angeles. The development in Beverly Hills has been done in accordance with preserving the historical architecture. Thus, the overall vibe of the area gives a glimpse of an old suburban town, and it is not wrong.

Once people start living here, they seldom want to move anywhere else because they are used to the same things and exceptional facilities of life available throughout the year. They wholeheartedly embrace this sameness in the locality since they believe that this is the essence of Beverly Hills.

Conclusion

All in all, Beverly Hills is among the wonderful places around the globe to live and settle with children and family. You will get everything here and will be living peacefully and happily with your loved ones.
