Malibu is a picturesque little town that has a great history. It’s home to the Chumash Indians, who originally lived on these shores before European settlers had made their way into California; now you can explore all 23 miles of scenic coastline in search of old ruins or maybe just enjoy one last sunset while watching luxurious boats sail by!

Otis College is a four-year college in the heart of West Los Angeles. Many students choose to attend Otis due to its proximity to Santa Monica, Malibu, and other communities along the ocean. The college offers bachelor’s degrees in art, business administration, computer science, environmental studies, fine arts, music technology, and sound design.

Alegria: This restaurant offers an exquisite variety of Mexican and Mediterranean cuisine. Their drinks menu includes both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, such as tequila, wine, and cocktails.
Mastro’s Ocean Club: This restaurant is a classic seafood and steakhouse. They serve great pasta dishes, as well as other extraordinary appetizers and entrees.

Reel Inn: This is a little more upscale than Neptune’s Net, and they have fantastic sushi. They also feature other great seafood dishes, as well as American favorites such as ribs or salads.
When you’re hungry for a great burger or sandwich:
High Tide Cafe: This little cafe has the best sandwiches in Malibu! They make each one with care, leaving you feeling full and satisfied. They also have great breakfast options, like scrambles, pancakes, or French toast.
Wendy’s Malibu: While this is not the typical sit-down restaurant you’d expect to find in Malibu, this little drive-thru joint is known for their fantastic burgers and sandwiches! You can quickly stop here if you’re on the go, and it’s a great option for those who’d rather not sit at a table.

Nobu Malibu: While known for their Japanese cuisine, this restaurant has fantastic seafood options that are worth checking out. They also have great appetizers and desserts – plus they’re open late!
Geoffrey’s Malibu: This is one of the best fine dining restaurants in Malibu. They have a great ocean view, and their lobster ravioli is to die for! Their menu changes frequently, so you’re sure to try something new every time you go there.
HOMES
The charming beachfront community of Malibu has a lot to offer a homebuyer, from a combination of modest and luxurious homes to fantastic views.
People who want a more modest home can choose from a few smaller condo complexes in Malibu that offer ocean views and updated amenities for approximately $1 million. The homes in these condos are generally between 1,000 and 2,000 square feet with a couple of bedrooms and 2 to 3 bathrooms.
The styles of homes in Malibu vary greatly due to the many influences on the development of the city. Spanish-style homes have been built in order to take advantage of properties offering seclusion from the roadways and beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean. These homes are typically two stories with a garage underneath and feature arched doorways, red tile roofs, and stucco walls.
Malibu is also home to many modern homes built in the mid-1950s, with flat roofs and large glass windows that open onto balconies. Contemporary homes are generally single-story structures with clean lines, plenty of glass, and spacious interiors. There are also small cottages that were built in the 1960s with guest houses, an open floor plan, and ocean views.
During the 1970s, Malibu residents wanted houses with space for pools and tennis courts that could prepare children to live in college dormitories. The most popular design during this time was a two-story home with bedrooms spread out over three levels. These homes are characterized by large living rooms and dining rooms, and the various levels often include a guest suite.
House styles in Malibu can be divided into two periods: before and after 1990. The first period is characterized by contemporary homes with flat roofs and large glass windows that open onto balconies. Contemporary homes are generally single-story structures with clean lines, plenty of glass, and little ornamentation.
The second period, after 1990, is characterized by Italian villas with red tile roofs and opulent designs. These homes have more ornate window moldings and eaves that offer shelter from the sun. The landscaping consists of waterfalls and fountains, as well as lush vegetation.
Up to this date, Malibu homes were considered shacks, with corrugated metal roofs and dirt floors. Now the topography is different; there are more hills on which houses can be built. The lots are not very large, but some can accommodate golf courses or tennis courts.
